“If our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things.” (1 John 3:20)

One of the most dangerous effects of sin is not the act itself — it’s the doubt it produces in your heart. Sin creates guilt, and guilt creates self‑condemnation. And once condemnation enters your heart, your confidence before God collapses. Not because God changed, not because God withdrew, not because God stopped listening — but because you no longer believe He will hear you.

This is why so many believers struggle after they fall. They don’t run to God — they run from Him. They don’t pray boldly — they pray fearfully. They don’t approach the throne of grace — they avoid it. Not because God is angry, but because their heart condemns them. Their own conscience becomes the barrier. Their own guilt becomes the wall. Their own shame becomes the voice that whispers, “God won’t hear you now.”

But hear this clearly: your heart may condemn you, but God is greater than your heart. Your feelings are not the truth. Your guilt is not the truth. Your shame is not the truth. God’s Word is the truth — and His Word says He will never leave you, never forsake you, and never turn His ear away from you.
